Santos Awakening by Linda Lenart

I am an Ohio artist formally trained at Columbia College, Chicago, with degrees in Fine Art and Dance. While studying dance, the gorgeous musculature of the dancers around me burned itself into my mind, and the visual language of bodies in motion began to predominate my art. My love of movement and bodies in motion led me to the sculpting of the human form; and when I moved from Chicago to Ohio, along with an insatiable love of the luminous color of skin, I added to my visual repertoire the burned-out look of the decaying, yet vibrant landscape. My figures and photographic vignettes now include the vibrant color of life forms against the elixir of decay in this rolling Ohio landscape.

I am sculpting, assembling, painting, photographing and writing in the studio daily. Most importantly though, this exploration has deepened my journey into the depths of healing and transformation, which I hope to bring to others when this body of work is completed. But truly, an artist’s or healer’s work is never really completed- the target just keeps moving, deliciously just beyond our reach. We will never touch bottom in our depths, for when we look for God’s touch in ourselves, we just pull out Infinity.
